About Us

ZipYell is a free directory of postal codes and places. We help people find the right postal code, see where it is on a map and understand the area it covers — in 31 countries and growing.

What you will find here

  • A page for every postal code with the places it covers, GPS coordinates, a map and the nearest codes.
  • City, town and area pages listing all the codes in each place, organised by region and district.
  • A separate site for each country (for example uk.zipyell.com or pk.zipyell.com), each using that country's own terms — ZIP code, postcode, PIN code, postal code.
  • Photos and videos of many places, credited to their creators, from Wikimedia Commons and YouTube.
  • Visitor feedback — registered members can rate places, give a thumbs up or down and leave comments.

Where our data comes from

Postal codes, place names, coordinates and administrative areas come from GeoNames, a worldwide geographical database published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. We process this data, organise it into pages and add maps and context. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under their own free licences and are credited on every page. Read our Editorial Policy to learn how pages are built and corrected.

What we are not

ZipYell is an independent reference website. We are not a postal service and are not affiliated with any national post office, government or carrier. Postal codes change from time to time, so always confirm important mailing details with the official postal operator of the country you are sending to. See our Content Responsibility Disclaimer.

How the site is funded

ZipYell is free to use. We pay for hosting and development through advertising and, occasionally, affiliate links. Advertising never decides what data we publish. See our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure.

Who runs ZipYell

ZipYell is operated by Zipyell.com (see the Contact Us page). We read every message — found a wrong code, want a photo credited differently or have an idea? Contact us.
