Finding postal codes
How do I find a postal code?
Type a postal code, city or town name in the search box at the top of any page. On a country site (for example uk.zipyell.com) the search covers that country; on zipyell.com it searches every country we cover. You can also browse by region or through the A–Z list of places.
Why does a place have several postal codes?
Large towns and cities are usually split into many delivery areas, and each gets its own code. The place page lists them all; open a code to see the exact area and the places it covers.
Why does one postal code cover several places?
In rural areas a single code often serves several villages or neighbourhoods that share a delivery office. All of them are listed on the code page.
What is a business or PO Box code?
Some countries give large organisations, government offices and PO Box sections their own codes. They are listed separately so they are not confused with street codes.
Which countries are covered?
ZipYell currently covers 31 countries. The full list is on the home page. A few countries have no postal code system; their sites list cities and places instead.
Using the information
Can I rely on a code for an important delivery?
Our data is carefully compiled but postal codes change. For anything important — legal documents, valuable parcels, official forms — please confirm the code with the national postal service. See our Consumer Guide for tips.
How accurate are the maps and coordinates?
The map marker shows a representative point for the code or place (usually its centre), not an exact address or boundary. Some codes cover large areas.
I found a mistake. How do I report it?
Use our contact form and choose "Report incorrect postal code or place data". Include the page link and, if possible, an official source. We review every report — see our Editorial Policy.
Where do the photos and videos come from?
Photos come from Wikimedia Commons and are credited on each page. Videos are YouTube videos about the place, chosen automatically and reviewed. To request a change or removal, contact us.
Members, ratings and comments
Do I need an account?
No — all postal code information is free without an account. A free member account lets you rate places, give a thumbs up or down and leave comments.
Why can't I post my comment?
Comments must be plain text. Links, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, promotional text, gambling or adult content and abusive language are blocked. Rewrite your comment without them. Our Community Guidelines explain the rules.
Is there a limit on ratings?
Yes. Each member can rate up to 10 places in any 24 hours. This keeps ratings honest and protects against manipulation.
How do I report a comment?
Click "Report" under the comment and choose a reason. Our team reviews reported comments.
Why don't I see my real name?
For your privacy we only show your username and your Gravatar picture. Your e-mail address is never shown.
