Accessibility Statement
ZipYell wants everyone to be able to find postal code and place information easily, including people with disabilities and people using assistive technology.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across zipyell.com and its country sites.
What we do
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure, landmarks and a "Skip to main content" link.
- Pages that work with the keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
- Text alternatives for photos, labels on every form field and descriptive link text.
- Sufficient colour contrast; text that can be enlarged to 200% without losing content; layouts that adapt to small screens and zoom.
- Respect for your "reduced motion" setting — photo slideshows do not move automatically when it is on.
- Videos load only when you choose to play them, and maps have titles for screen readers.
- Every postal code and place is available as plain text, not only on the map.
Known limitations
- Embedded third-party content — Google Maps, YouTube videos and some advertisements — is not fully under our control and may not meet all accessibility criteria. The information shown on maps is also given as text on the page.
- Some photos from Wikimedia Commons have only a generic description.
- Comments written by members may not always follow plain-language best practice.
